JKBOSE Issues Clarification on Re-admission and Stream Change Cases for Class 10th, 11th, and 12th

The Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has issued an important clarification regarding re-admission and stream-change cases for students of Class 10th, 11th, and 12th. This clarification is in continuation to the earlier notification No.: F(Acad-C) E-File-7207848/SC/RA/24 dated 17-02-2024.

Here are the key points from the latest notification:

1. Re-admission for Class 10th & 11th

  • Students who were on the regular rolls but could not appear or were declared fail/re-appear in the annual exams can seek re-admission.
  • Re-admission is allowed only in the immediate subsequent session.

2. No Re-admission for Private Candidates

  • Candidates who have submitted their exam forms or passed in private capacity are not eligible for re-admission under this policy.

3. Re-admission in Class 12th

  • Allowed only if the student was on the regular rolls in the previous academic session and failed or did not appear in the exam.
  • Not allowed if the student has already passed Class 12th.

4. Stream Change After Passing Class 11th

  • Students who passed Class 11th but didn’t seek admission in Class 12th and wish to change their stream (e.g., from Arts to Science) can do so.
  • Must cancel previous candidature and result at their own risk.
  • Must appear in all compulsory subjects of the new stream and cannot retain any previous subjects.

5. Stream Change and Re-admission in Class 12th After Failing

  • Students declared fail/re-appear in Class 12th and want to change stream can seek re-admission in the immediate next session.
  • Must cancel previous Class 12th result and cannot retain any subjects.
  • Must pass corresponding Class 11th subjects (except English and Fifth Subject).
  • Result of Class 12th will be withheld until the Class 11th result is submitted.

6. Gap Case Clarification

  • Students who didn’t seek admission after passing a class and are now seeking it after a break are considered “Gap Cases”.
  • Eligible for admission in next higher class in Regular mode within three academic sessions from the date of passing the last exam.

Conclusion:
Students and schools are advised to adhere strictly to these revised guidelines to avoid confusion and ensure smooth academic transitions.
